Bergdorf Goodman is doing The Met Ball

(The window & the exhibition's book.)
Bergdorf Goodman joins the celebration of the opening exhibition at the met: "The Model as Muse." They dedicated theis entire back of Fifth Avenue windows to it. Part of the windows show the exact same look I was talking about in my last post. Other windows were inspired by models in the 60', especially Tweegy, the 90's supermodels (as in the infamous Peter Lindberghe
"The Wild Ones" photograph) and more.

( A window inspired by tweegy)
(Picture from the exhibition, the window at Bergdorf and Dovima with Elephants, Evening Dress by Dior by Richard Avedon.)
I have to admit, the whole thing looks like an huge ad for the exhibition, there is nothing original about it. dont you think?

Hollywood chic in New-York

The traditional annual Costume Institute's Gala or the "Met Ball" (in the Metropolitan Museum) took place Monday night, celebrating the new exhibition "The Model as Muse."
Watching the red carpet, you couldn't not t notice the "glamorous chic, Hollywood goddess/film starlet" many of the attending VIP chose to embrace.

What was the inspiration behind this trend? Was it pictures of glamorous supermodels? Was it
the will to forget about the recession and go back to a more nostalgic & classic times like the 50'&60? Or was it just a crazy idea of a stylist, that watched too many movies of that era?
